International Day of the Midwife

Today we celebrate International Day of the Midwife.

We celebrate the midwifes who attend births in homes.

We celebrate the midwives who attend births in hospitals.

We celebrate the midwives who attend births in birth centers.

We celebrate the midwives who spend hours talking with mothers prenatally.

We celebrate the midwives who gently educate mothers about healthy pregnancy.

We celebrate the midwives who sit quietly during births, allowing mothers to labor in peace.

We celebrate the midwives whoactively encourage and support mothers with their hands and their words.

We celebrate the midwives who treat mothers, babies, and families with the respect and care they deserve.

We celebrate the midwives who answer the call to provide maternity care in places where no others will.

We celebrate the midwives who continued a tradition, even when it was under fire.

We celebrate the midwives who work tirelessly to elevate the profession to again get the respect it deserves.

We celebrate the midwives who are taking up the profession, who will serve families for many years.

We celebrate the midwives who are OBs, but (secretly) work with the hands and the hearts of midwives.

We celebrate these midwives for the care they give, the skills they employ, and the passion they have for what they do.

Happy International Day of the Midwife

Opening BabyLove in September of 2011 has allowed me to build a space where all families can come to get good information in a caring, welcoming environment. I have found that not only do I love teaching more than ever, but I also really love running a business. Hopefully my passion for every aspect of BabyLove shines through.
I live in Richfield with my husband, and I am a mother of a two great children. When I can steal a few free moments, I love to go on adventures with my family, cook, garden, thrift, can, and craft.
